Sonography (US, Ultrasound)
The ultrasound is a complete X-Ray free method, no side effects are known. Typical scan regions are the upper and lower abdomen, the neck (especially the thyroid gland) and the breast.
Clinical questions like inflammation of the gall bladder with or without the detection of stones, liver changings, spleen measurements and changings of the kidney or the ureters are common. The scan of the arterial and venous system is also possible.
A contact-gel is necessary that can be removed easily at the end of the exam that lasts about 5-15 minutes.
